Happy Valley

I've relented, I'm buying a cintiq. Why? The image is from Happy Valley and was drawn entirely on a Cintiq. There's no discernible difference between that and my brush inking (or there might be, but it's very subtle). Borrowed my mate's cintiq and within 10 minutes was comfortable enough with it to be convinced that I could draw digitally (and within an hour had inked half the page). Anyhue, BUY Happy Valley - coming in December from Dynamite Entertainment (by Garth Ennis and me!)

(You can also see a colour preview at CBR's website )

Update: Just to clarify - Happy Valley was drawn with a brush, bar TWO panels - and the image above is from one of those panels. I drew those two on a cintiq and realised that it would be pointless drawing them again in brush, since they're pretty much as I'd draw them. Once the issues come out you can have some fun trying to spot the panels!

I want a cintiq.
Looks great, cant believe it was done on a cintiq.
The preview -pages look sweet, the color works really well.

And another Mick falls to the sweet spell of the Cintiq. That just leaves Mooney and Dec....

Excellent, excellent! I think it's the right choice PJ. I could never see myself inking with real ink when you have kids running around. You can't spill a cintiq. You can drop it though.

How much are they to buy now anyway?

Brand new the 12" is around £900! - but I've worked out a deal with a guy for a second hand one that's a decent price. You can buy the 21" new from apple (apple uk business price) for around £1500 though... But I'm not 100% sure how much I'll use it.

Didn't end up borrowing Thompson's Will, but I'm sure I will at some point.
I guess there must really be something to the whole Cintiq-Mystique.
5 out of 7 micks prefer it.

Before you borrow someone else's cintiq make sure you've got the money to buy one - cus you won't want to to give it back...
