Ha, yep Thompson and Mansloth, had that Wildcats/X-Men issue open beside me the whole time. Good catch. My favourite single comic artwise of all time alongside Jim Lee's X-Men issue 1.
Wolvie was wearing his yellow and blue costume in his original appearance in hulk 181 or whatever it was Thomps. He got the brown costume later after joining the x-men.
That's loverly. I like his grumpy facial expression the best. We're you perusing your copy of X-Men/WildC.A.T.S. by any chance?
ReplyDeleteWhat Thompson said, really reminds me of the nightcrawler in the snow scene.
ReplyDeleteThe face is awesome.
That's lovely man. Love the moody colouring and yeah, that's a great expression on him too. I really like the shape of the trees too.

Although Wolvie was actually wearing his brown+yellow costume in that issue. I wanted to try the old-skool one.
ReplyDeleteI thought this costume was more recent than the brown one? And I meant 'were' earlier, not 'we're'.
ReplyDeleteI dont like the wat Adam Hughes drew him in that actually. he looked a tad too slobish. Brilliant piece Mooney. one of your best
ReplyDeleteYeah, he didn't look anything like Hugh Jackman. Way to drop the ball Hughes.
ReplyDeleteOr look like me. Thats whats really important
ReplyDeleteFeckin Brilliant!

ReplyDeleteYeah it was originally the yellow one, then when John Byrne came on he soon came up with the brown-and-tan costume. I think.
ReplyDeleteVery nice honey! I also knew where the inspiration for this came from...I've been hanging around you nerds too long...
