DAKEN: DARK WOLVERINE

News came out last week that Rob Williams is the new ongoing writer on Daken: Dark Wolverine, so I thought I'd try my hand at drawing him. Congrats Rob!

With the background, I wanted to break up the fingerprint dust technique with a different element, so I tried experimenting with line for the more distant background. I'm not sure if it worked, but I thought it was worth trying.

  1. Lovely solid figure-work there art-Deco. Not sure about the bg treatment. Definitely an interesting effect.

  2. Oh, and I second the conrats to Rob! I'm sure he'll knock it out of the proverbial park.

  3. Ah yeah, it might have been better to use that effect as a foreground element instead but sure, it was worth a shot.

  4. Love the figure and the swirly, smoky stuff behind him but that line effect on the right of the background still looks like palm fronds to me.

  5. Thanks Tom!

Thompson; Yeah, Jordie said the same thing. Sometimes you just need to try something to know when NOT to do it, i guess
