Robot Attack!

Here's the opening panel from my first issue of Magnus Robot Fighter, which is due in April I think. You can see the inks for this entire page over on Mark Irwin's DeviantArt site here.

Batman

Like Dec, Ive been doing a bit of experimentinh with textures. Really like how this came out and I think im gonna push it big time

DAKEN: DARK WOLVERINE

News came out last week that Rob Williams is the new ongoing writer on Daken: Dark Wolverine, so I thought I'd try my hand at drawing him. Congrats Rob!

With the background, I wanted to break up the fingerprint dust technique with a different element, so I tried experimenting with line for the more distant background. I'm not sure if it worked, but I thought it was worth trying.

Assembling The Avengers

Wow, this birthday snuck up on us, huh? Here's the least-embarrassing, almost-complete image I have to hand; a work in progress image of them Avengers.

Thanks to everyone for visiting us over the last couple of years. You provide us with the kick up the arse some of us (me) desperately need.

Birthday Anteater

Completely forgot I was supposed to post today so here's something from my archives. A rare foray into watercolour.

Birthday Bonanza

Well, two years ago to this day, Mooney posted the first daily blog piece for our blog. It literally started off as just an excuse for us to get each other drawing, I dont think any of us expected it to last two years and produce over 700 art posts and two sketchbooks

I came up with the idea a few weeks back that it might be a nice idea for the birthday to showcase some of that talent thats around the country

First up is Paul Reck
You can check out his work at odingraphics.deviantart.com

THUNDERBOLTS

Hey all. Seems this week is the Eclectic Micks blog's second birthday. Happy birthday blog! I celebrated by doing a big ol' Thunderbolts piece. Very strange to think how much has changed since we all started the blog 2 years ago.

While i'm at it, i might as well point to an interview i did on CBR on my new Crossbones one-shot, and let ye know my latest issue of T-Bolts (a spotlight issue on Man-Thing) is out tomorrow. Preview here.

Doodles I Did Doodle

Bit pressed for time this week, so I'm posting literally the closest thing to hand. My heel sheet. These are the folded up pieces of paper I use so as not to smudge pencil-work, ie it sits under the 'heel' of one's hand as they draw. These small sheets tend to end up full of procrastination/warmup doodles. Usually weird heads and dudes with guns/swords in my case, or layouts/compositions for upcoming drawings.

When I grow up I want to be Genndy

VOTE PALPATINE

Election Day here in Ireland, innit? This is our local candidate's policy.

Mojo Jojo

I was never a big fan of any of the Genndy Tartakovsky cartoons storywise, but I loved the design sense of the animation. I particularly liked the design of Mojo Jojo from the Powerpuff Girls so here's my take on him.

The Shapeshifting Master of Darkness

Powerpuff girls.... meh
Dexters lad..... pfft
Clone Wars.... pretty amazing
Samurai Jack...... Pure class

I actually think PPG was good. Its all relative to how amazing Genndy Tartakovsky's work is.
I have so many great memories from watching Jack.
The two that stick in my mind are the scene where he is sloooowly reaching for keys off a sleeping bad guy, and the episode where he climbs a mountain to find a secret at the top which will give him the strength to defeat Aku.
Amazing show.
