Moonstone by Stephen Mooney

Here we go with another Theme Week, this time it's the turn of Declan Shalvey's stint on Marvel's Thunderbolts book, the first issue of which is in stores this wednesday(U.S.) or Thursday(mother country). Buy several!

I was assigned the good lady Moonstone(hint's in the name I guess) to draw, and that suited me fine as much like Barry White,  I love the sexy slither of a lady snake. Her costume is a tad generic to say the least, seemingly consisting of a white and gold body-stocking and mask. So I punched up the gold parts a bit, and went for a nice dramatic angle to try and make the shot a shade more interesting looking.
That, and boobs, obviously.

The pencils and inks for this piece can be seen over on the Moonblog here, if you interested in that sort of thing...

Wow! thats class stephen! I'd stick that at the front of the portfolio. one of your best yet and I agree with the last comment that the colour holds and the choice of colours in general work really well.Dare I say it, a little Adam Hughes-esque!

Wow, great job man! Love the colours (most feminine colour scheme the blog has EVER seen); really like how you softened the rendering on the white parts with a colour hold. Making a T-Bolts logo out in the gold rendering was a really nice idea too.

Great stuff man.

That's great. Flawless foreshortening and lovely colour. Dec's right, it's funny to see such a light, fluffy colour scheme on the blog. I highly approve. Oh and congrats again to Dec. I shall actually buy a copy of thunderbolts with my own hard earmed moolah.

Can't really add to what's been said- the palette makes the image- it has such a delicate touch, yet the colors are strong and not a bit insipid- well done.
