Dragon

I'm extra busy today so for the first time I'm posting an old picture on the Micks blog. This is a dragon sketch I did a couple of months ago. It was probably prompted by a re-watching of Dragonslayer. A great 80's fantasy movie with the best on-screen dragon of all time, who also had the best dragon name of all time, Vermithrax Pejorative.

Ah, Vermithrax Pejorative. Loved Dragonslayer so much as a kid, had this really cool marvel comics adaptation of it too.... memories.
Lovely line on this, kinda moebius-ey in places.

How about Mooney's head on a dragon's body? Sexy!

Nice stuff Stephen

Who could say no to that?

Nice drawing. I like how you blocked in your shadowy areas.

Never been a fan of dragons i must say.

What if it was a gritty, street level Dragon who lived in a morally ambiguous world where the line between what's right and wrong was constantly being redrawn? You'd draw the hell out of that.

I know you jest Thompson, but you're right; I really, really would.

Really like this sketch, Mooney. Head reminded me of the Skeksis' from The Dark Crystal (which I'd love to see one of yas or all of yas for that matter, take on!)

I <3 Dragons, the detail is great on his face. Reminds me of the Flight of Dragons :)

never saw the film! I think I was in a coma for about 2 years in 80's.

Our apologies! What a faux pas! THOMPSON - your sketch is aces!

You have no idea just how often we confuse Thompson & Mooney on a regular basis.

@Bob Byrne - the book that you can get is fab too, the drawings of dragons are so wonderful to look at
