Here's a real tv hero, everybody's favourite compulsive eater, Cookie Monster. The original drawing is pretty small, only a couple of inches high, doodled on the end of a shopping list. Obviously I was in the mood for baked goods.

Look at you with your full colour finished pieces!!
Pffft. You're just copyin' me cuz you know i have an Oscar the Grouch up my sleeve.
Must say, you got his paws just like they are on the teevee. Noice woik.
I think this is my favourite piece...but I have soft spot for the cookie monster...mmmmm cookies! I bake cookies...if you'd come visit us I'll bake cookies!
I'm gonna come right out and say it, this ain't for me.
Cookie-Monster always struck me as a bit of an attention-seeker.
You guys know me and messy eaters.
Perfectly good drawing though.
Great sketch, Thompson. Met Frank Oz in Cineworld once. Had my photo taken with him and for some inexplicable reason it came out completely white. Weird.
Now everybody, "C is for Cookie and that's good enough for me, oh! cookie, cookie, cookie starts with C!"
YAY cookies!! You brightened up my day thank you. I love this it's so cute
bah humbug stephen (mooney) cookie monster is great...and you love me even though I'm a messy eater! This is my new desktop background.
AWE and then SOME!
This is now the winner. We can stop the blog. There will be NOTHING better than this.

(except maybe Bert and Ernie...)
Seriously, great work. The blue pops right off the screen.
BTW, who's in charge over here? Somebody should probably step up and post some Silverhawks!
Wings of silver, nerves of steel... (Silverhawks!)
Partly metal, partly real... (Silverhawks!)
Best theme lyrics ever.
I'm having high-larious flashbacks to you singing that out loud in the attic...
Christ we're old...
Cookie Monster ate those snacks with such gusto that I gave 'em a try myself. And it wasn't the last time Henson led me astray. (That would be when I refused a life-saving blood transfusion.) Despite the rankness of cookies, biccies and other munchables my palatte rejects, this is far too cute and good-natured for this blog and for Thompson. What goes on?
What's sad about the current run of Sesame Street is that they've PC-ified all the old characters, so nowadays Oscar the Grouch is merely mildly annoyed and the Cookie Monster mostly stays away from cookies, instead steering kids toward veggies and such. Appalling. Great drawing, though!
