Catches Thieves Just Like Flies
Only time for a quick one this week Micks.
I'm off to a festival in France (C'est la vie)so apologies in advance both for the hurriedness of this and my non-participation in Robotech next week.
Looking forward to all your Spideys!

THOR (in colour)
100 posts? Man; can't believe we've done 100 posts. Most of us, anyway. Unfortunately, my 100th post is actually an old post. My deadline got moved up so i'm stuck for time this week. Thankfully Jordie Bellaire did me a favour by colouring up my Thor piece from months back, so i nave something 'new' to show. I'll make up for it with next weeks Ultimate Spidey piece, i promise.
Congrats to those who've made 100!

Thor
My favourite version of the thunder god has always been the kickass bearded version that Walt Simonson portrayed. The beard just made him seem that much more manly and...Norse.
A close second would be the recent version that Olivier Coipel served up in his great run on the book. Fantastic stuff.
PS- I wasn't going to devote as much time to this piece at all, but then noticed this morning that this week marks my 100th Micks post. Who wudda thunk it.

Kells Surprise
That doesn't really work...
Big welcome to Tomm! Like every other dull twanny who shites on, I too was steamrolled by that film what he worked on. Every frame triggered pangs of envy but also strong feelings of physical arousal. And I liked that feeling. It's an honour to be in your company. (Though after doing the drawing, the next Mick we recruit needs to be blonde. Or ginge.)

Secret of Kells by Stephen Thompson

Welcome Mr Moore.
What a quality film. Whenever anyone from abroad asks me about art in Ireland I always show them the secret of Kells and they always love it.

THE SIEGE OF KELLS
New Member: Tomm Moore
Just a quick note to introduce our newest Mick-head, Cartoon Saloon and oscar-nominated director/vegetarian Tomm Moore. The man is as big a comicbook fan as any of us, so I'm sure we can expect to see some amazing interpretations of the funnybook stalwarts. See below for Tomm's first post of what we hope will be many.

Hello Micks!
I decided to pay tribute to some of our influences on The Secret of Kells , I hope I have time to do something to acknowledge the Hungarian folktales,The Thief and the Cobbler and Samarai Jack as well.....
Aisling
I adore the fluidic linear design of Aisling, and the inherent felinity that both looks cool and hints at her more cat-like qualities. Savage stuff Cartoon Saloon.

JAKE ELLIS
Who is Jake Ellis you might ask? Well, the answer can be found in 'Who Is Jake Ellis?' from Image Comics. Issue 1 came out last week and it's really, really good. Written by Nathan Edmondson with gorgeous art by Tonci Zonjic.
A preview of #1 can be seen here. Go check it out.

SPIDER-GIRL
A mate of mine, Paul Tobin, has a new Spider-Girl series from Marvel, so I wanted to do a Spider-Girl piece for him.

Aaaahhhhh.......
No theme this week! Which gives me the opportunity I so crave to not make any extra effort. Here's a sketch of Moonknight lashed out for a guy at a signing in New York last october.
