TONSER

Another week of drawing a fellow Micks character. This week i went with one of Will's characters. He informs me that this thing is called a 'Tonser'. It's an alien he designed for his first issue of Farscape, so i thought it'd be a larf to draw.

I would like to take this opportunity to announce my fondness for, ah, Duff Beer. Oh, i mean the 2D Festival.

Good stuff Deckard. I like the design from Will, he looks like he's just popped up out of a mechanical egg.

He reminds me a little of Doomsday. I like the way you kept the armour almost plain white, really pops it from the ink wash on the skin.

I agree with Thompson.
The plain white armour looks great.

Oh,and are there any pics of the
2D yoke up yet?

Very nice Declan. I don't know how you, and the other Micks, find the time with all your other projects going on. And props to Will for the design.

I have a question - how do you keep the page so clean with pencils, inks and washes flying around the place?

Thanks lads, though the credit really does go to Will.

Yeah, happy '100th post' indeed!

To those commenting, i was gonna render the armour, but once i did all the skin, i thought it's look better without. Glad ye agree.

Ciarán; trial and error. You figure out what works and doesn't and get used to the tools. This one was pretty basic, i just blocked in certain areas. Generally though, if things get too messy i'll clean it up a bit in photoshop, but not by much.

Oh yeah, Luke; there's some photos knocking about on Facebook. I'll rob some and stick 'em on me own blog soon enough.

Good-good! I believe you make a cameo in said comic too? Or is that a closely-guarded secret?
