Suuupermaaan

This is my piece for the Irish Animation Artshow taking place in the Trinity Science Gallery on Sunday the 29th of July. The auction is for a really worthwhile cause, The Children's Sunshine Home & LauraLynn house care for children with life limiting conditions. Please do try and get out to the Trinity Science gallery and bid on some amazing artwork from many of the top professionals in the country, including fellow Mick Tomm Moore. There'll be some major bargains on many one of a kind pieces of art.

The brief was simply to draw something inspired by your love for animation, so here's my version of what's possibly my favourite animated scene ever: the Iron Giant flying into space as his hero, Superman, in order to save the lives of everybody in the town his best friend lives in by sacrificing himself. It made me feel real-life emotions, so it did.

I totally thought this was Nick Roche's piece…

That's a compliment! ;)
SUPER nice. Love Iron Giant.

I certainly shall take that as a compliment, what with Nickleback being the resident giant robot expert round these parts! Cheers Nicholas

Man, the more I look at this the more I want it.

Is the auction going to be in-person only?
I checked the site and it looks like I'm out of luck… :(

Not sure Nicholas. I know last year people who couldn't make it had other people who were there bidding on their behalf. I'm sure you could email in a bid or even text one? I'll ask the organisers for you when I see them tomorrow in Boulder.
