PEEK

Howdy folks. May have mentioned i'm working on a Marvel thingy. Well, I've been doing some prep sketches but i can't show any of them yet, so in the meantime, here's a peek. Sorry; that's all i got this week.

Also you can here me talk (or not-really-talk) about it on the Comic Cast.

12 Issues Later

Decided to commemorate Dec's passing from the 28 Days Later book with a shot of Selena doing the do.
I'm not usually this sentimental, but I thought our Deckard did a bang-up job during his year on the title, and will go on to even bigger and brighter things. Very soon. Hint.

Little Frank

Still gutted over the sad loss of Frank Sidebottom. Here is a pic of Frank's puppet, Little Frank (He's not real; he's only cardboard). Who's going to look after him now that Frank's gone?

Nick

big joke

If Orson Welles had had his way and had managed to make a Batman movie, I think Danny Kaye should have been the Joker and Victor Mature Bruce Wayne. This one took about half an hour and was more of a fun bit of hokum- I just didn't have time to do the Jokermobile.

RIP Frank Sidebottom

I was always fascinated with Frank Sidebottom as a kid, sent him some comics years ago and he mailed me back. He died this week from lung cancer. Ah well.

Less depressing comic on Spazzmoid today

Sequence

I'm snowed under at the moment so here's a little sequence of panels from the book I'm working on for IDW right now. I love when anyone whips out a torch (or flashlight) in comics 'cause you get to go to town with the noir style lighting.

'ZOMBIE BRIDE'

Something a little different this week. When scanning some layouts on my housemates scanner i noticed a discarded pencil drawing on her desk. Not much detail on it, mainly just the figure and 'Zombie Bride' scrawled lightly to the side. I asked her if i could ink it. So there's her pecilled drawing, inked by myself and then coloured by her. 'Her' being the talented Stacey Lee

3rd in 2D

The last of my non-robot 2D sketches, and I'll not sully this place with unnecessary robotics. The Third Doctor, Worzel 'Dad of Sean' Gummidge hisself, Jon Pertwee. Wayne, you can pretend this is a birthday present. If you want.

Nick

SEXY MOONEY UPDATE: This bad-boy should have been up yesterday, but it's my fault that it wasn't, not Nick Rock's. He had had it scheduled to go up, and had asked me to check in and make sure it posted on time(he's away at the mo y'see), and, well, I forgot. Sorry Nick, it's up now if that helps at all...

Hal Jordan

Yet another sketch from the recent 2D con, this time the main Lantern himself.

Time for your appointment with the Wicker Man...

Since we're coming up on the Summer Solstice and Mice Templar Volume 2.2 is coming out in July, it seemed a good time to give you all a gander at this illo I did for aforementioned title. Each book has a great little breakdown on the influences and real world sources for the Mice Templar story, so when the writer, Bryan J.L. Glass, suggested I knock out one for Samhain, I was happy to oblige. It was also a great excuse for me to break in the new Cintiq for the first time, so it was a win-win.

Hardcore Gorn

Sorry.

I got a mail from a lad asking me to do a commission of 'Kirk fighting the Gorn' and I politely declined. But I drew him this for free. Another fantastic instalment of my webcomic popping right now

Mad Man

So I thought I'd do another 'editorial' style illustration and Mad Men's Don Draper seemed like a natural subject 'cause he's just so damned smooth. I'm not a huge fan of Mad Men, I find it can get a bit soap opera-ish for my tastes, but it looks fantastic. I may have a bash at Roger Sterling next week as he's the best part of the show.
