Nightwing by Stephen Thompson

Here's a reeeeealllllly old sketch of Nightwing, probably dating from around the time of the original Batman Animated series. I'd say that cartoon is still my favourite version of Batman in any medium including comics and live action.

Wow, i *really* like this one. I really like how you held back on all the noodly anatomy and stuff, but it's still very clear that you know how to draw. I'd love to see you ink this. Hell, I'D love to ink it!

Actually, if PJ was still on the blog i would have gotten confused about the day, looking at this piece this afternoon.

Deadly piece. My favourite version of Batman too, topped only by the Arkham Asylum game, which is basically an edgier version of the cartoon.

I remember this, tis great.
I'd have thought he was leaving all of the detail etc out cos he was drawing him pretty much on-model from the animated show, Dec. Either way it works.
And I too agree, THE definitive version of our time. My favouite episode: Almost got 'im.

Oh i can tell that's why he left out all the detail, i'm just glad to see that he did, is all. Have never seen Thomps draw in such a pared-down style before.

True... its like the least amount of lines he's used in a drawing EVER....

I find it's a lot more work to put down fewer lines.
