I've taken some pre-order sketch requests for the upcoming NYCC. It's one way of guaranteeing that I get some sketches done no matter how busy i'll be at the con. This is the first of them; THANOS.
This kicks ass. Really nice line work, and yeah that grey wash is excellent.
Do you have time to do any more of these before the show? Just curious. I'd like to get one if you do. I saw the info on your blog. Prices seem great so lemme know.
Thanks fellers. Yeah, i coulda just done the effect in pure b+w but i thought i'd get more variation if i used shades of grey... like the moral landscape, if you will...
Nick! I'm a little swamped with requests, but i could definitely rough it out in pencil before the show and ink it during the show, if you like? Gimme an e-mail saying who you'd like.
Eclectic Micks are a collection of Irish professional comic book artists. They include Stephen Mooney (Angel, Half Past Danger), Stephen Thompson (Star Trek; New Frontier, Presidential Material: John McCain), Len O'Grady (Smoke, Ares) Nick Roche (Transformers, Doctor Who), Will Sliney (Star Wars, Farscape), Bob Byrne (Mr. Amperduke, 2000AD), Declan Shalvey (Thunderbolts, 28 Days Later) and Tomm Moore (The Secret of Kells)
Every day there will be a sketch posted here, each artist posting on a certain day. Enjoy

Nice. Particularly like the greywash edging on the black star-scape. Very effective.
