Stephen King by Stephen Thompson

My mother's maiden name is King so I came a hair's breadth away from being called Stephen King myself. I hadn't read any of his books until a few years ago, probably because I was put off by the 'horror' tag, but his he sneaks the supernatural elements in so slyly you barely notice at first. I've read about 15 or so of his novels and I think my favourite by far is 'The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon'. It's wonderfully simple, young girl lost in the forest trying to survive, but he builds a fantastic amount of atmosphere.

Aw, i'm a bit disappointed man; i was hoping for something 'bigger' from you this week, with it being your pick and all.

Don't get me wrong; that's a great portrait you did, i just guess i was hoping for an illustration of the story you mentioned, more than a drawing of the author.

Dec...is that cos you've never read any of the books so were hoping to find out what they were about through the medium of pictures?

Well I think this is great, always like it when you draw the grotesque gickery. Red paper is always a winner too.
