Great angle Will, and yeah, the finish is giving the pic some real atmosphere. Only comment I'd have is that the screentone on bats might be giving him a bit of a stoney/grainy texture, and making the figure look a bit like they've erected a statue of batman. A kick-ass statue, though.
I like the texture experimentation but i think there's so much that it gets a little muddy in places.
Mainly the building in the center; the halftone and the sky texture kinda blend together, whereas it looks fine in both upper corners, cuz you have bits of white in the sky to separate buildings from the sky.
My favourite bits are actually the blacked out fire escapes, telephone poles and foreground. They balance all the texture quite nicely.
Cheers Dec. I still think interms of "this is gonna be coloured" so i never really care about things blending together in the black and white. Who knows, it may change
Eclectic Micks are a collection of Irish professional comic book artists. They include Stephen Mooney (Angel, Half Past Danger), Stephen Thompson (Star Trek; New Frontier, Presidential Material: John McCain), Len O'Grady (Smoke, Ares) Nick Roche (Transformers, Doctor Who), Will Sliney (Star Wars, Farscape), Bob Byrne (Mr. Amperduke, 2000AD), Declan Shalvey (Thunderbolts, 28 Days Later) and Tomm Moore (The Secret of Kells)
Every day there will be a sketch posted here, each artist posting on a certain day. Enjoy

thats really great. awesome job
Haha, it does actually. I reckon the colours would sort that problem out.

Wow that's amazing, really moody, I love the "Shrek" sign too!

Yeah i guess we're just different that way. I try to not think about how it's gonna be coloured 'til afer it's finished.

great stuff man!
awesome!
Kinda reminds me of the look of Batman Animated for some reason, especially the background. I thought the sign was for Bob Shrek.
great work
