Same Bat time, Same Bat channel

Second Batman of the last two days for ya, third if ya count the one on Mooneys blog.
Hey look Dec, theres even some splatter in the back ground.
For this I used a masterful ancient splatter technique called the Metallica method of splattering on images

Lookin good Will. Nice, solid figurework and the BG has a much nicer, more organic feel to it than previous ones.

Cheers Mansloth, got that vibe from it myself for some reason. Yeah Mooney i reckon im getting a bit closer to where I wanna be with the backgrounds now. Its same techniques just with a bit more touches put in

Yeah, the backgrounds look better when you go back in and dirty them up. Makes them look more like a drawing than a 3d background.

If it really was a 'Metallica' method, the splatter would have smashed your Cintiq.

Nah man I scanned it. Dont think ill ever be using that scanner again though. And it was an A3 one and all

Cinematic is a great description. The pose makes you think that he's going to be swinging through Gotham any moment now.

Really great piece.

Actually should've mentioned that the composition on this is excellent too.

Declan Shalvey said...

Yeah, the composition is probably the best thing about it.

I don't get you will, what did you scan? The splatter? The background...?
