The Man Without Fear

Did a fairly sucktacular Daredevil on the blog a ways back, been meaning to have a better stab at him.

That's a great piece Stephen, great sense of vertigo.. nowever, given that he's swinging on his billy club line, & he's ABOVE the tallest building in New York, it does beg the question... where is he swinging from?? Sorry.. pedantic, I know.

Still a great piece.

Heya Staz! Love your stuff man.
Um, obviously this pic takes place back when the world trade centre was still around and taller than the Empire State building...-cough-
Nah, to be honest I added the billy-line toward the end as I thought it would add more motion to the piece, figured it would be attached to the strut of a chopper or some such... and never apologise for accurate-yet-pedantic criticism here on the Micks Blog, ours is a world of logic-based piss-ripping.

That's class Mooney. You should do more actiony poses like this and the overall compostion and idea for the shot is great too. Also love the lack of rendering. Really Really like this.

Brilliant piece man.

Have to agree with Staz's pedantic-ness, only cuz you're the most pedantic one on the blog!

Love the pose, i really like how you dont really see him(makes him more iconic), and the DD's on the rope like is a *fantastic* idea. Wish i'd thought of it.

Even when drawing a dude Mooney has to include a pair of double D's. Excellent piece, sir.

Heh, good one Thomps.

Thanks for the good word, guys. This is one've those rare ones that actually turned out pretty much like my mind's eye's version, so happy enough with it.

That's one damn fine DD you've drawn there, great work, love the red wash over it. It's like we're seeing him through his 'eyes'.

Nice work honey! it's pieces like this that make me ok with being a comics widow.

Speaking as DD fan I really like this. It reminds me of one of the covers from Fall From Grace except from a different angle. It'd make a great cover to a trade of that story.
