So I thought I'd do another 'editorial' style illustration and Mad Men's Don Draper seemed like a natural subject 'cause he's just so damned smooth. I'm not a huge fan of Mad Men, I find it can get a bit soap opera-ish for my tastes, but it looks fantastic. I may have a bash at Roger Sterling next week as he's the best part of the show.

Or even better, 'Drew' from 30 Rock.
Actually, i'd love to see you do Sterling. He's my fave too. Every line he has is gold.
Lovely stuff man. You really excell at these 'editorials'
Love this kinda stuff Thomps, nice deadpan execution, and great colours.
Mad Men is one of my favourite shows, you should give it another shot. Although one of the prime reasons I enjoy it is down to the fact that everything/one is so damn good-looking, The design and way it's shot is gorgeous aswell, easily meriting my watching loyalty on that alone. That said the storyline tends to be very dark and interesting too. You say soap opera and I think Deserate Housewives or something equally as fluffy and shite.
Oh I still watch it, it's just that I find it leans towards their personal crap a bit more than I'd like. I prefer the stuff about the firm itself or the era.
Nice style, good likeness.
Spot on color pallet and rendering. How'd you create the line quality, it looks like soft pencil on a rough tooth paper. Is it just a photoshop brush?
As a side note, if you want your bit of trek six degrees of separation: Pete from Mad Men (Vincent Kartheiser) was in Masterminds with Patrick Stewart, which also starred Callum Keith Rennie (Leobon, from BSG) Talk about soap opera... Battlestar got into the thick of all that.
Great design on that show. Pity nothing happens. Not a fan. Great pic though
Yep it's a pretty straightforward Photoshop brush. One of the more texturey ones that looked kind of like a pencil or wax crayon.
Half way series two and loving the set designs, costume etc
Hope Nolan has seen that Draper is his Superman!
